October Hurricane

HURRICANE IAN Written by Sister Mary Magdalene The Sisters and students at the Florida campus are most grateful for all your prayers. Hurricane Ian was headed directly for the school and would have been devastating for the Florida campus. Many of our Florida families were under mandatory evacuation the day before the storm. Thanks be to God the hurricane took a sharp turn east and made landfall south of us, contrary to its projected models. The convent lost power, and the roof a few shingles. The school lost a soccer goal to a fallen tree. But no other damage was sustained. Our three online families who live near Fort Myers saw heavy damage but made it through the storm without injury.
